INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
INDEPENDENT CINEMA OFF PLUS CAMERA

Is organized by the Art Association for Independent and "Off Camera" and the Krakow Festival Office since 2008. OFF PLUS CAMERA is a large-event devoted to Polish and international independent cinema. Our goal is to support these filmmakers, who are just starting their careers.

The highlight of the festival is an international competition in which 12 directors of independent films from around the world fighting for the Krakow Film Award in the amount of USD 100 000, which is awarded by an international jury, a prize awarded by the Mayor of the City of Krakow.

For over sessions can be viewed over 100 world's independent films. The festival has the ambition to show - apart from the latest films - auteur cinema classics. An integral part of the festival is the competition films made mobile phone, inspired by the same project with Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival.

OFF PLUS CAMERA is a refuge for a good, often difficult theater, as well as a meeting place for discussion and exchange of views. The hallmark of the event is to move screenings to small and medium-sized, study halls Krakow's cinemas. So thought projection policy to recall the memory of small cinemas climate with an ambitious repertoire, film clubs, which in its heyday Polish cinema of the 60's, 70's and 80's were the mainstay of culture, a meeting place for artistic and intellectual elite.

The festival is accompanied by workshops, meetings with artists and panels as well as special screenings and concerts.
